Journey of a Well Woven Rug - Manufacture: The Weaving Process

Once the type of yarn and color creel are selected it is loaded onto the over 30,000 bobbins in place. These strands of yarn are fed into the power loom where they are passed through the weft (backing) of the rug, weaving the carpet. After this the carpet is cut and serged. Those that do not require carving are ready for packaging. Others will go onto the final process of finishing.
